Week 3 - Visualizing and Refactoring Your Week
- Start by watching Lesson 510 - Your Visual Week.
- Once you have reviewed and understand Lesson 510, watch Lesson 520 - Refactoring Your Week.
- This is where the previous lessons regarding Journals, Logbooks, your Tactical Support System all come together. There is more to add later, but this is the big start.
- Toward the end of Lesson 520, it suggests you take out one of VR sheets and plan out the balance of the current week. It's a good idea to do this as a 'trial run' right now.
- I recommend that you learn iFocusToday with the paper VR sheet. After you have the concepts in place, if you really don't like the idea of a paper to-do list, Here is a quick take on an online service you might want to look at.
- On late Friday, over the weekend, or first thing Monday, allow two hours to fill out the first full-week VR Sheet.
- The first few times you refactor your week and fill out your VR Sheet it may take as much as two hours. If you are in a complex environment, allow more time.
- Have faith - there is a learning curve - after the first couple of weeks, the time will go down to an hour and after several weeks the time required usually goes down to well under an hour.
- This is time well spent, as it is this investment, with the support of what you have learned in the other modules, that keeps you focused on what is most important and help keep distractions away from your week.
For Our +Link Subscribers:
- Downloading and printing the +Standard VR Sheet. If you prefer to start with the +VR with More Projects Form that's fine too; you can switch between the two at the start of any week.
- For Reference when refactoring your week, you can Print out the +Flowchart diagram for easy reference.
